This area of Senator Grassley’s website is designed as a resource for teachers and students at all levels to learn about the workings of the federal government, a typical day in the life of a United States Senator, and what there is to see and study in Washington, D.C.
In addition to serving as a United States Senator today, Senator Grassley has studied history and government since he was a young kid. He earned a bachelors degree in political science from the University of Northern Iowa and a masters in political science from the University of Iowa, and takes every opportunity he can to share information and insight about how government works and the impact of political leadership on the lives of people around the world.
Senator Grassley speaks to students as he travels around Iowa when the Senate is out of session and through IP, ISDN and Skype while he is in Washington when the Senate is in session. If your classroom would like to speak with Senator Grassley via IP, ISDN or Skype, please click here to set up the visit or call our Washington office at 202-224-3744. Grassley makes a point to personally meet with more than 60 groups of students every year in Washington.
