W. M. Keck Optical Measurement Lab
JILA Micro and Nanofabrication Facility
The W. M. Keck Optical Measurement Laboratory manages both the Optical Metrology Lab and JILA's Micro and Nanofabrication Facility. The Keck Lab was designed to support research at JILA, but under certain conditions the facility is also available to other University of Colorado researchers and non-CU entities. A set of policies has been set up to help maintain the Keck Lab as a useful facility for its user community.

The Keck Lab is a central facility currently at JILA. JILA is a multidisciplinary institute operated jointly by the University of Colorado at Boulder and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). JILA researchers have produced innovative developments in lasers and optical science and use laser technology in fundamental research in physics and chemistry. For more information, visit the JILA homepage.

Metrology Lab

The metrology lab is a 581 square-foot facility located in JILA S105 that houses JILA's shared optical and surface characterization instruments, as well as optical fiber tooling.
Reservation

To assure availability of an instrument, reserving the item is recommended. JILA users have first priority, CU/NIST users second, and Non-CU clients third. All bookings are locked in for a 24 hour period before usage.
Fabrication Lab

The fabrication facility is a 1650 square-foot suite of Class 1000 (ISO 6) and Class 100 (ISO 5) clean room bays on the first floor of JILA's X-wing. The dicing saws are in a 250 square-foot lab across the hall.
