Katy Echave

Katy has been with NOAA since 2010. She is a Research Fisheries Scientist in the Marine Ecology and Stock Assessment Program with the Alaska Fisheries Science Center’s Auke Bay Laboratories in Juneau, AK. She received her B.S. in Mathematics from California Baptist University and M.S. in Fisheries from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Katy manages the AFSC groundfish tag program, contributes as an author on sablefish, shark, and rockfish stock assessments, studies benthic habit utilization by groundfish species, and studies sablefish growth.
