Proposed Landscape Scale Restoration Program Directive
The Forest Service is requesting comments on the Forest Service Manual 3800 Landscape Scale Restoration (LSR) Program proposed directive which sets forth direction for the implementation of Landscape Scale Restoration. Section 8102 of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill) amended Section 13A of the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978 (16 U.S.C. 2109a) to establish the State and Private Forest Landscape Scale Restoration Program. The 2018 Farm Bill codified the Landscape Scale Restoration Program, directing the Forest Service to establish a competitive grant program to provide financial and technical assistance to encourage collaborative, science-based restoration of priority forest landscape.
