Coronavirus and USDA Service Centers

As proactive health measures are put in effect nationwide to reduce the spread of coronavirus, USDA is taking measures to ensure the safety of its employees and customers. As a result, access to FSA County Offices may be limited. Before visiting a USDA Service Center, contact your office to confirm an in-person or phone appointment. Agricultural producers should visit farmers.gov/coronavirus for the latest information on available services and the latest status of service centers impacted by these locally-specific health measures.

Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2

Are you a farmer or rancher whose operation has been directly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic? USDA is implementing Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2 for agricultural producers who continue to face market disruptions and associated costs because of COVID-19.

Farm Service Agency will accept CFAP 2 applications from September 21 through December 11, 2020.

A call center will be available for producers who would like additional one-on-one support with the CFAP 2 application process. Please call 877-508-8364 to speak directly with a USDA employee ready to offer assistance. To find the latest information on CFAP 2, including forms and the contact information for your local Service Center, visit farmers.gov/CFAP.

Livestock Forage Disaster Program

Ranchers and livestock producers may be eligible for financial assistance through the Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) for 2020 grazing losses due to drought. The deadline to submit an application for 2020 LFP assistance is Monday, Feb. 1, 2021. To determine if a county is eligible for LFP assistance, view the complete list of current, eligible counties in the online Texas LFP County List.

The men and women of FSA work to ensure Texas farmers, ranchers, and landowners have access to all technical assistance, funding, and programs FSA has to offer. FSA serves all 254 Texas counties through a network of 173 county offices. The state office headquarters is located in College Station.

Since the implementation of the 2014 Farm Bill, FSA has invested an average of $1 billion each year into the stability of our state’s agricultural system.

We are committed to providing all available FSA programs throughout the state, including low-interest loans, commodity price support, disaster assistance, and conservation incentives. FSA programs are designed to provide an important safety net for farmers and ranchers during times of economic uncertainty, disaster, and emergency.

FSA is eager to assist all eligible Texas producers' agriculture endeavors. We encourage new customers, including beginning or underserved farmers and ranchers, to review resources available through FSA. We also welcome veterans, many of whom return home to rural communities, to consider agriculture as an option for their next career. We also support the growing group of women farmers who add tremendous value to the agriculture industry.
