Total tourism-related nominal output increased to $1.87 trillion in 2018, a 7.1 percent increase from $1.75 trillion in 2017. In 2018, total output consisted of $1.09 trillion in direct tourism output and $781.5 billion in indirect tourism output. The 1.72 ratio of total output to direct output in 2018 means every dollar of direct tourism output produced required an additional 72 cents of indirect tourism output.
