• If you are searching by Credit Union Name, try your search again using just part of the name (e.g., 'Pentagon' instead of 'Pentagon Federal Credit Union').
• If you are searching by Charter Number, it may have changed due to a charter conversion and the credit union is now reporting under a different charter number. If this has happened you can try to search by Credit Union Name. If its name has also changed you will need to contact the NCUA Office of Examination and Insurance to determine the current name and/or number.
• The credit union may have merged with another credit union and has assumed the identity of the credit union with which it has merged. You will need to contact the NCUA Office of Examination and Insurance to determine the current name and/or number.
• The Credit Union may be a Corporate Credit Union. A list of Corporate Credit Unions may be found here.
• The credit union may not be insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. NCUA's website generally provides information about credit unions that are regulated by NCUA, federally insured state-chartered credit unions, and corporate credit unions. Non-federally insured natural person credit union information provided to NCUA is available in our Freedom of Information Act files.
• Check to make sure the search fields match your search criteria (for example, typing a Credit Union Name in the Charter Number field will return no results).
• If you are searching by Credit Union Name, try your search again without using abbreviated names (e.g., "Pentagon" instead of "PenFed").
• If you are a credit union and find outdated or incorrect information, use the Credit Union Online system to update these fields. Corporate credit unions should update their 5310 Call Report and submit it to ONES5310@NCUA.GOV to update incorrect information.  If information is not provided in Credit Union Online or the 5310 Call Report, it will not appear in Credit Union Locator or Research a Credit Union.
