Dr. Javaid Perwaiz Case Updates
Dr. Javaid Perwaiz was arrested on November 8, 2019, on federal health care fraud charges brought in the Eastern District of Virginia. According to allegations detailed in court documents, for nearly a decade, Dr. Perwaiz performed unnecessary gynecological surgeries on unsuspecting patients. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia has published a web page to provide information and updates about the case.

Current or former patients seeking a copy of their medical record should email usavae.perwaiz.medical.records@usdoj.gov with their full name and dates of service. The FBI is not in possession of all medical records maintained by Dr. Perwaiz’s practice.
