SLAC operates three Department of Energy user facilities that serve more than 2,000 researchers per year. SSRL and LCLS provide powerful X-ray beams for a wide range of research. FACET is a test bed for next-generation accelerator technologies such as wakefield acceleration.

SLAC collaborates with individual researchers, institutions and businesses large and small. These partnerships include joint proposals to funding agencies, CRADAs (often arising from joint work on SBIR programs), direct funding from industry and proprietary use of our SSRL light source.
