In May 2016, the COPS Office launched the Advancing 21st Century Policing Initiative, which will provide hands-on assessments and technical assistance to a cohort of law enforcement agencies that have already made strides in advancing community policing in their areas. The project will also produce guiding materials for other agencies to use in their efforts to advance those policing practices.
