Presidential Management Fellows Program

Each year the Forest Service actively recruits, trains, mentors and converts a cohort of Presidential Management Fellows (PMFs). We are looking for PMFs with diverse backgrounds to be placed across the country to help serve our national forests.  These PMFs will be rewarded by tremendous possibility in training, rotations and advancement, a highly-engaged support network of PMF alums, and the opportunity to serve on the front lines of public lands management.

The success of the Forest Service PMF Program stems primarily from an organization run by its members. Each PMF in the oncoming cohort will have the opportunity to serve on committees dedicated to ensuring the effectiveness of the program. The cohort model of bringing in PMFs is designed to quickly establish comradery and support among fellows as they navigate their new positions. The Forest Service PMF Program has been repeatedly recognized for being an industry leader and is managed by the highest levels of the Agency. We here at the Forest Service invest in Presidential Management Fellows because we greatly value hiring talented, educated individuals who bring fresh perspectives and energy to the workforce.
