Pocket Guide to Large Truck and Bus Statistics

Overview

FMCSA’s 2020 Pocket Guide to Large Truck and Bus Statistics highlights the Agency’s role in collecting and analyzing data on large trucks and buses. Intended as a compact reference, it is a compilation of statistics from the overall state of the industry to enforcement activity, details on traffic violations and other incidents, the costs of crashes, and more. These data are used in support of our mission to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries. The Pocket Guide can serve as a valuable, compact resource for industry representatives, Federal agencies, and other individuals interested in motor carrier safety regulations and performance data. It will be updated periodically in the future as new data are collected and analyzed. Previous versions of the Pocket Guide can be found in the archives section on this page.  

The Pocket Guide incorporates and replaces the one-page data summaries, “Commercial Motor Vehicle Facts,” published occasionally over the past 10 years. Links to those summaries are provided below:
