National Transportation Safety Board

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is an independent establishment of the United States Government, not part of the Department of Transportation. In order to prevent and detect fraud and abuse, Congress granted the Inspector General of the Department of Transportation the authority to review only the financial management, property management, and business operations of the NTSB, including internal accounting and administrative control systems, to determine NTSB's compliance with applicable Federal laws, rules, and regulations.
