A companion Special Emphasis Notice (SEN) (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-HS-13-011.html) has been published to support career development (K08) and research dissertation (R36) grants focusing on health information technology (IT). This SEN is focused on five research areas of interest that are needed to support health care quality and are considered part of a continuous quality improvement process. These research areas of interest are design, implementation, use, impact on outcomes, and measurement.
