Poppleton Cooperative:
Low income families who had endured deteriorating living conditions in W. Baltimore’s Poppleton neighborhood will now be able to enjoy its resurgence. Poppleton Cooperative will be rehabilitated and redeveloped into 111 quality rental homes affordable to very low-income families and seniors.  A complicated mix of stimulus funding sources have proven critical to the success of the financing.

We're pleased to announce that Pullman Wheelworks has been named Affordable Housing Finance Magazine's Preservation Project of the Year! Preserved by NHT/Enterprise Preservation Corporation and Mercy Housing Lakefront, the 210 affordable apartments are located in Chicago's Southside and serve as an integral piece of the historic Pullman community's renewal. PrezCat Launches!
PrezCat is a joint effort between the National Housing Trust and Novogradac & Company LLP, and generously funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. PrezCat is an online, searchable catalog of state and local affordable housing preservation policies and programs. Using PrezCat, stakeholders can search state specific policies and programs, compare national and regional trends and analysis on affordable housing preservation, and learn about best practices that address affordable housing challenges. NHT Announces NHT Renewable!
NHT Renewable, an NHT/Enterprise affiliate, represents a new model for financing solar energy in affordable multifamily housing. Using combined funding from the MacArthur Foundation, the District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility, Enterprise Community Loan Fund, and Back of America, NHT Renewable will install and operate solar photovoltaic and solar thermal systems on five affordable housing properties consisting of 10 buildings across Washington D.C. The installation will reduce energy utility costs in the common area for all five sites by roughly 40%.

NHT Receives Andromeda Star Award from Alliance to Save Energy
The Andromeda Star Award recognizes NHT's work to create partnerships between housing and energy sectors to help overcome the challenges to serving the multifamily sector with utility energy efficiency resources. Through these partnerships, utilities have committed to investing $40 million in energy efficiency for multifamily rental housing.

NHT/E's Monsenor Romero Apartments Featured in Washington Post
The National Housing Trust/Enterprise Corporation will soon complete their preservation work on Monsenor Romero Apartments, an affordable multifamily apartment building in Northwest Washington DC. After a five-alarm fire in 2006, which left the property uninhabitable, the tenant association purchased the building in an effort to preserve a historic property in a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood. NHT/E began working with the association to rehabilitate the property and keep it affordable. In October, once the rehabilitation is completed, 75% of the original residents will be able to move back. Click here to read more about Monsenor Romero Apartments.

NHT/E Presenting on Green Retrofits for Multifamily at CNHED
The National Housing Trust/Enterprise Corporation's Kara Williams-Kief and Jared Lang will be presenting at CNHED's 2014 Training Institute session on Green Retrofits of Multifamily Affordable Housing Properties. Their presentation will center on green development at Channel Square, a DC-based affordable multifamily property NHT is preserving in partnership with Rose Companies and Somerset Development Company. The Non-Defense Discretionary Coalition (NDD), comprised of human needs and services organizations across fields, focuses on saving funding programs that provide public service to the nation's most vulnerable populations.
