Security Clearance Process

Security Clearance Process In accordance with OIG security procedures, you are required to obtain and maintain a personnel security clearance. The type of security clearance you will need is based on your job assignment. Below are three links that will take you to the appropriate forms you will need for each of the clearances: Suitability Determination, Postal Sensitive, Moderate Background Investigation (MBI), and Top Secret. If you do not know what type of security clearance you will require, please contact one of our Personnel Security Team at Security@uspsoig.gov.

Forms for Single Scope Background Investigation(SSBI)/Top Secret (TS)

You will also need Fingerprint Cards, Proof of Citizenship, and a Digital Photo

If you have a TS or higher, no fingerprint cards or proof of citizenship is required.

Postal Sensitive Forms

If you have a Secret or TS or higher, no fingerprint cards or proof of citizenship is required.
If you are an intern, then also complete PS Form 2181C
