Technology Partnership Programs

Technology Partnership Programs manages a variety of legislated programs and serves as a focus on external workforce development activities across the transportation community. TPP is one of three offices within the OTS and is comprised of the following programs;

  1. U&GP: The Universities and Grants Programs provide management, leadership, and direction for transportation education, research, and workforce development through university-based programs. U&GP administers the Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program (DDETFP). Its mission is to attract qualified students to the field of transportation, to enhance careers of transportation professionals, and to retain top talent in the U.S. transportation industry. U&GP also administers the Garrett A. Morgan Technology and Transportation Education Program (GAMTTEP). Its objective is to improve students', particularly women and minorities, skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through transportation-related activities.

  2. LTAP/TTAP: Provides training, technical assistance and technology transfer services to local roads agencies, partners and stakeholders across the US.

  3. TEDPP: Provides competitive grants to institutions of higher learning and explore innovative workforce development initiatives including K-12, curriculum development, workforce strategy, community College and university engagement.

  4. Transportation Workforce Development: Developing a well qualified workforce now and for the future

  5. International: Supporting the Office of International Programs in variety of transportation related training
