Northwest Power Act turns 40
In 1980 Congress passed the landmark Northwest Power Act. The Act made energy efficiency a resource and spawned regional partnerships that have led to energy and cost savings as well as mitigation efforts for many species that call the Northwest home.
River operators increase flows to welcome returning chum salmon
BPA and its federal partners are working to support threatened chum salmon in the lower Columbia River.
BPA proposes debt reduction measures to augment cost containment
Power rates expected to stay relatively flat;Transmission rates expected to rise
Idaho governor recognizes BPA customer for energy efficiency
BPA customer Northern Lights partnered with Alta Forest Products on energy efficiency measures at a plant in Naples, Idaho. The effort will save almost 1 aMW per year.
