Continuing Education Units

The National Employee Development Center (NEDC)seeks approval by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET) to provide Continuing Education Units (CEU) for NEDC courses. Beginning November, 2003 NEDC began certifying new and redesigned courses for CEU’s.

One CEU equals ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience. Each course must undergo a rigorous instructional design process to meet the guidelines established by the IACET.

The NEDC is committed to continue providing quality training for NRCS employees and it’s conservation partners.

The opportunity to offer CEU’s means NEDC:

  • Demonstrates compliance with proven, research-based criteria created in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Is dedicated to high standards for quality in continuing education and training.
  • Awards the IACET CEU, the hallmark for quality in continuing education and training.
