The court has updated the document Administrative Procedures for Electronic Filing, Signing, and Verification of Documents to reflect current recommendations. Electronic Service of Notice - LBR 2002-1 has been amended, effective April 1, 2009, to allow service of notice via electronic transmission to parties who are registered participants in the CM/ECF system. The "Notice of Electronic Filing" (NEF) will provide service and eliminate redundant paper notice to recipients. Please note that service of a Summons and Complaint is governed by FRBP 7004 and must be served by first-class mail. A redlined version of the changes may be accessed by clicking here and scrolling down to "Redlined version of the Local Rule amended by General Order 09-02." Access to the new Local Rule can be obtained by clicking here.

There is a publication on the Court’s website which users may find helpful in managing the notices of electronically filed documents. At the Court’s website, click on "Electronic Filing" and scroll down to "Managing ECF E-Mail." Additionally, a "Summary of ECF Activity" lists
e-mail activity in cases to which the user is a party. Attorneys may find this report helpful for verifying whether all ECF e-mails have been received.

The proposed order will appear on the docket (behind the Request for Entry) and parties to the case will receive a Notice of Electronic Filing (NEF) when the Request for Entry with the proposed order is filed. Instructions for submitting a proposed order can be obtained by clicking here. Please note: No order should include the word “Proposed” in the title.
