Diversity and Inclusion

Hugh Frater - CEO, Fannie MaeA home is a place where you can be yourself, where you belong and are valued for who you are, not just what you do. We want Fannie Mae to look and feel like home for every employee, vendor, and customer – as well as for the millions of homeowners and renters who rely on us to provide a stable source of home financing. That is why our employees reflect the diverse communities we serve. It’s also why our policies and practices – honed by diligent practice – make Fannie Mae a leader in diversity and inclusion in our industry. Our diversity and inclusion practices are not only a source of strength and competitiveness, they reflect our core values and our mission to make housing more affordable for all Americans.

- Hugh Frater, Fannie Mae CEO

As a leader in diversity and inclusion (D&I), we harness the power of our diverse workforce to achieve optimal business results. We’re committed to expanding opportunities for our employees and diverse suppliers, vendors, and business partners – as outlined in our Equal Opportunity in Employment and Contracting Statement. This commitment, annually endorsed by our CEO and approved by the Board, drives diversity and inclusion in the workplace as well as in the marketplace.

Our Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) is dedicated to diversity and inclusion programming, engagement, strategic planning, metrics, and reporting. Providing a meaningful and consistent model supporting D&I efforts is key to a successful program and an integral part of Fannie Mae.

We have been recognized for our diversity and inclusion efforts and are continuing our practice of making Fannie Mae a better place to work. To further our commitment, our CEO, Hugh Frater, signed the CEO Action Pledge, which aims to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
