The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has the primary responsibility for gathering and delivering data on over 9,000 Federal civil service leadership and support positions in the legislative and executive branches of the Federal Government that may be subject to noncompetitive appointments.  This information is presented in the U.S. Government’s publication for Policy and Supporting Positions, commonly known as the “Plum Book.”  OPM will provide information and instructions related to the Plum Book. 

Data reflected in the Plum Book will be from information agencies provided to OPM as of June 30, 2020.  

Agencies will have until August 31, 2020 to ensure their data is complete and accurate.
