  1. USDA Announces Increase to Certain Incentive Payments for Continuous Conservation Reserve Program

    WASHINGTON, Dec. 9, 2020 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture is increasing incentive payments for practices installed on land enrolled in the Continuous Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is upping the Practice Incentive Payment for installing practices, from 5 percent to 20 percent. Additionally, producers will receive a 10 percent incentive payment for water quality practices on land enrolled in CRP’s continuous signup.  FSA administers CRP on behalf of the Commodity Credit Corporation.

  2. USDA Designates Five Connecticut Counties as Primary Natural Disaster Areas

    WASHINGTON, Dec. 7, 2020 — Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue designated five Connecticut counties as primary natural disaster areas. Producers in Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, New London and Windham counties who suffered losses caused by Tropical Storm Isaias and high winds that occurred Aug. 4 through Aug. 5, 2020, may be eligible for U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) emergency loans. 

  3. USDA Reminds Farmers Located in Washington County RI to Vote in County Committee Election

    Warwick, RI, Nov. 24, 2020 — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has mailed ballots for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committee elections to eligible farmers and ranchers across the country. To be counted, ballots must be returned to the Rhode Island County FSA office or postmarked by December 7.

  4. USDA Reminds Farmers of September 30 Deadline to Update Safety-Net Program Crop Yields

    WASHINGTON, Sept. 25, 2020 – USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds farm owners of the September 30 deadline to update Price Loss Coverage (PLC) program yields for covered commodities on the farm. This is a one-time opportunity for producers to update yields, which are used to calculate 2020 through 2023 payments.
