Suppressed Wood
In nature, mature wooded areas periodically burn, clearing out small seedling trees, bushes, and other items in the understory and leaving the larger trees intact. Modern forestry prevents forest fires, which causes the forest to be more dense than it would be naturally and thus a greater fire hazard. In order to remedy that, responsible modern forestry removes less healthy seedlings, brush, grass, and other items. These materials, removed for “suppression” can be processed and utilized in buildings.
