  Alicia Kubas is the Government Publications and Regional Depository Librarian at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She also serves as the data services liaison, helping users find statistics and datasets from various sources, including Government sources. As the Regional Coordinator, she works with 70 selective depository libraries in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Michigan to offer free access to Government information. Kubas received a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, Mathematics, and Spanish from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and her Master of Library and Information Science from Texas Woman's University. She is also active in the American Library Association's Government Documents Round Table.

  Robbie Sittel

  Robbie Sittel is the Government Information Librarian at the University of North Texas. She oversees the Eagle Commons Library, a campus branch library that houses a number of specialized services including UNT’s Government Information Connection, the Funding Information Network, and GIS services. The Government Information Connection was recognized as a Depository Library of the Year in 2015. Ms. Sittel is dedicated to preservation and access of Government information, specifically digital-born information. She is involved in a number of initiatives aimed at raising awareness on this issue. Prior to becoming an academic librarian, Ms. Sittel spent 9 years as Documents Coordinator for the Tulsa City-County Library where she was engaged state-wide in promoting and teaching the value and use of Government information. She is an active member of ALA and has held leadership roles in TLA GODORT. Ms. Sittel promotes civic engagement on the UNT campus and throughout the Denton, Texas community, serving on the board of the League of Women Voters, and through her membership in the Benjamin Lyon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

  Yvonne D. Williams is a 30 year veteran working with the FDLP at the Memphis Public Library and Information Center. As Cataloging Specialist in the Government Publications Department, she is the lead staff person assigned to maintain the daily operations of the department, which includes technical processing, maintaining the historical Federal documents collection, and overseeing FDLP promotional initiatives. Her passion for promoting the FDLP at the Memphis Public Library and in the community led her to consult with library management and develop strategies to enhance staff and public awareness of this invaluable resource, which are now being implemented. In addition to her passion for the FDLP, she has a zeal for criminal justice, which is evident by her 30 year service as a volunteer for the Tennessee Department of Corrections, where she serves as Volunteer Chaplain’s Assistant. She is a Certified Christian Chaplain, International Federation of Christian Chaplains, Inc. (IFCC), and has earned a Master of Religious Arts Degree in Christian Counseling from Jacksonville Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and Organizational Development from Bethel University.

  Stephen Parks is the State Librarian of Mississippi. In this role, he oversees the State Library, a specialized public law library which provides legal research materials for the judiciary, state agencies, lawyers, students and the public. He has been in this position since 2016. Prior to his current position, he was the Research, Instructional Services, and Circulation Librarian at the Mississippi College Law Library. Mr. Parks has taught legal research to law students and courses on Government resources to library students for a number of years

  Marianne Ryan

  Term: June 1, 2018 – May 31, 2021

  Marianne Ryan began her career as a Government information librarian, working in three regional depositories and serving as Depository Coordinator for the Maryland/Delaware/DC region. She held associate dean positions at Northwestern and Purdue before moving into her current role as Dean of Libraries at Loyola University Chicago. As a library administrator, Marianne has remained an advocate for access to Government information and the importance of an engaged citizenry; she is developing a civic engagement initiative, aligned with her institution’s social justice commitment. Marianne has taught courses on Government and legal information and has published and presented on the value of Federal information and other primary sources. Her service to the Government Documents Roundtable includes chairing its Publications Committee and editing Library Journal’s “Notable Government Documents” column. A recipient of ALA/GODORT’s NewsBank/Readex/Catharine J. Reynolds Grant, her research explores Congressional oversight of baseball. Marianne earned a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science and PhD in Policy Studies, both from the University of Iowa.

  Laura Sare Government Information Librarian, Texas A&M University. Laura is an active member of the American Library Association (ALA)’s Government Documents Roundtable (GODORT) and has served on several GODORT committees, currently as Chair of the Publications Committee. She is the lead editor of GODORT’s journal DttP: Documents to the People, and she won the Margaret T. Lane/Virginia F. Sanders Memorial Research Award for an article in portal: Libraries and the Academy. Laura is the Communications Working Group Coordinator for the Technical Report Archive & Image Library (TRAIL) that digitizes technical reports and makes them freely available online.

  Will Stringfellow Coordinator of Government Documents, Central Library of the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries at Vanderbilt University. Will serves as the Federal Depository Coordinator overseeing the U.S. Federal and United Nations Depository collections. He manages all aspects of the government documents collection including legal compliance, technical services, stack maintenance, and disposition of the FDLP and UN documents. He supervises three government document student assistants and is currently managing a multi-year deaccession project involving over 100,000 maps and 25 student assistants.

  Rick Mikulski Assistant Professor and Government Documents and Social Sciences Librarian, Portland State University (PSU). Rick provides research support and instruction to the College of Urban and Public Affairs, coordinates the library’s data management services, and oversees PSU’s regional FDLP collection. He is a GOVDOC-L moderator, an active member of GODORT and the Documents Interest Group of Oregon, and has formally been an elected officer of the Documents Association of New Jersey.

  Jennifer Morgan

  Jennifer Morgan is the Government Documents Librarian at the Jerome Hall Law Library, Maurer School of Law at Indiana University. As a reference librarian and Federal depository library Coordinator, she provides general legal reference assistance and specialized reference assistance in the use of U.S. Government information to IU patrons and administers the Law Library’s U.S. Government depository program. Jennifer also teaches an advanced legal research course for the Law School as well as courses in Government information for Indiana University’s School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering and the University of Washington’s iSchool.

  Jennifer is active in several state and national professional organizations, including the American Association of Law Libraries and its Government Documents Special Interest Section, INDIGO (Indiana Networking for Documents Information and Organizations), and the Government Information Day planning committee at the Indiana State Library. In addition to her professional and volunteer positions, Jennifer wrote a book chapter on Government documents, “The Evolution of Government Documents,” published in both editions of Law Librarianship in the 21st Century.

  Jennifer earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana) and her Master of Library Science degree from Indiana University (Bloomington, Indiana).

  Julia Ezzo is the Government Information and Political Science Librarian at Michigan State University. As the FDLP Coordinator for MSU’s large selective depository library, she provides reference and instruction with an emphasis on finding and using Government-produced data and statistics. Mrs. Ezzo is also a special format cataloger, specializing in video games. She is active in the American Library Association’s Government Documents Round Table (GODORT), has held leadership roles in Michigan’s GODORT, and serves as a moderator for the GOVDOC-L listserv. She earned her bachelor's degree in History from Michigan State University and her Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University.

  Vicki Tate is currently the Federal Depository Coordinator and Head of the Government Documents and Serials Department at the University of South Alabama Libraries, with over 30 years of experience in the Government documents field in an academic setting. She has been a strong advocate of access to Government information in all formats. She has presented programs/workshops on finding fugitive Government documents and using LibGuides in promoting Government information at numerous professional meetings. She is an active member of ALA GODORT, having served in various capacities including more recently as Bylaws Coordinator, GODORT Archivist, and Notable Documents Panelist. She is also one of the longest-serving moderators for GOVDOC-L, a national discussion forum for Government information.

  Renée Bosman is the Government Information Librarian at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She manages the Federal, international, and U.S. state documents collections and serves as the Regional Federal Depository Librarian for North Carolina. She is also the subject liaison librarian for the Political Science and History departments, and the curriculum in Peace, War, and Defense. Renée is actively involved in the Government Resources Section of the North Carolina Library Association and is also the current chair of the ASERL Collaborative Federal Depository Program Steering Committee. Renée received her B.A. in Linguistics and Italian and M.S. in Library Science, both from UNC-Chapel Hill.

  Lisa Pritchard is the Director of Library Services and Coordinator of Government Documents at Jefferson College in Missouri, one of a small number of FDLP depositories housed at community colleges. Jefferson College Library doubles as a public library and provides a range of services to a local population that is without a public library. Ms. Pritchard teaches, hosts events, and collaborates with campus and community partners to enhance civic engagement and increase awareness of Government documents, our country’s history, and the democratic process. She is passionate about the power of libraries to enable citizens to positively shape their own lives and improve their communities through access to Government information.

Past Members

The following documents provide the purpose, duties, and general operational characteristics of the Depository Library Council:

Council Member Obligations:

• Attend an orientation for new Council members
• Attend DLC/FDLP conferences and meetings
• Participate in conference calls (usually on a monthly basis)
• Participate in committee work and other DLC assignments as needed
• Stay engaged with the Council, GPO, and the depository library community

Officers

Within Council, there are 2 officer positions.

1. Chair: Presides over meetings of the Council and is responsible for organizing the Council, which includes the creation of committees to carry out the duties of the Council. The chair also serves as direct liaison between the Council and the GPO Director. This position is elected by the DLC.
2. Secretary: Arranges for the preparation of records of meetings, proceedings, and all of the records of the Council. Handles all official correspondence of the Council and meeting notices. This position is elected by the DLC.

Meetings

The DLC, in conjunction with GPO, holds two annual events per year: the spring DLC Virtual Meeting and the fall Federal Depository Library Conference, also broadcast virtually.
