The Department is also working with manufacturers to increase their energy productivity by implementing energy efficiency measures.

Advanced Manufacturing Office

Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing

Provides funding to automotive or component manufacturers for reequipping, expanding, or establishing manufacturing facilities in the U.S. that produce fuel-efficient advanced technology vehicles or qualifying components, or for engineering integration performed in the U.S. for advanced technology vehicles or qualifying components.

Industrial Assessment Centers

Small- and medium-sized manufacturers may be eligible to receive a no-cost assessment provided by Energy Department Industrial Assessment Centers. Teams located at 28 universities around the country conduct the energy audits to identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and save energy.

Superior Energy Performance

Facilities certified to Superior Energy Performance® are leaders in energy management and productivity improvement. The facilities in SEP have met the ISO 50001 standard and have improved their energy performance up to 30% over three years.

Industrial Technical Assistance

The Advanced Manufacturing Office's Industrial Technical Assistance supports the deployment of manufacturing technologies and practices, including strategic energy management and combined heat and power, across American industry to increase productivity and reduce water and energy use.

Combined Heat and Power

Combined Heat and Power Deployment Program provides stakeholders with the resources necessary to identify CHP market opportunities and support implementation of CHP systems.
