LIMITED TO THE STAFF OF THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. TEMPORARY NOT-TO-EXCEED (NTE) AND INDEFINITE NOT-TO-EXCEED (NTE) STATUS CANDIDATES ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY. (EMPLOYEES MUST MAINTAIN THEIR ELIGIBILITY AT THE TIME OF SELECTION.) Working under the general direction of the Law Library's Supervisory Writer-Editor and being cognizant of production deadlines, the incumbent proofreads and copyedits Law Library products, including legal research reports on foreign and comparative law, to ensure that they meet established editorial and formatting standards. The incumbent reviews products for correct punctuation, grammar, and word usage; verifies the correct application of style and citation guidelines; checks the accuracy of document formatting; confirms hyperlinks; proofreads products edited by others; performs consistency reviews of collaborative products; and uses specified systems to track production information and the status of Law Library products.
