Chairman Khouri Participating in Global Maritime Forum Virtual High-Level Meeting

Chairman Michael Khouri will attend the “Virtual High-Level Meeting” of the Global Maritime Forum.  In addition to attending plenary sessions, he will be a participant in two Working Groups: “Closing the Competitiveness Gap” and “New Societal Demands”.

The Virtual High-Level Meeting replaces the Global Maritime Forum’s Annual Summit and spreads meetings and events over the course of one week instead of two-days.

Commissioner Bentzel Speaks to Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness

Commissioner Carl Bentzel will participate in the upcoming meeting of U.S. Department of Commerce’s Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness (ACSCC), speaking on the topic of “Inland Waterways”.

The Commissioner is scheduled to make his presentation from 1:05 p.m. to 1:35 p.m.

The event is open to the public, with the exception of the “Administrative Session”, and there is no charge to attend.

Commissioner Dye to Address WESCCON

Commissioner Rebecca Dye will address the 37th Annual Western Cargo Conference (WESCCON) meeting of the Pacific Coast Council of Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Associations (PCC) where she has been invited to speak on the topic “Can the Federal Government Intervene to Improve the Supply Chain”.  In her remarks, Commissioner Dye will discuss the economic imperative of improving port efficiencies, the necessity of making continued progress in improving the detention and demurrage practices of ocean carriers and marine terminal operators, and the urgent need for ocean carrier executives to actively engage with U.S. port, marine terminal, and trucker executives to solve pressing port challenges.

Commissioner Dye Speaks to NRF Strategic Supply Chain Council

Commissioner Rebecca Dye will speak to the Strategic Supply Chain Council (SSCC), a committee of the National Retail Federation.

The topics Commissioner Dye will cover include port congestion and the urgent need for increased marine terminal efficiencies.  The Commissioner will also use the opportunity to discuss with SSCC her concerns about the apparent lack of ocean carrier compliance with the FMC Interpretive Rule on Detention & Demurrage practices.

This meeting is open only to members of the SSCC.

Commissioner Dye Provides Keynote to Coalition of New England Companies for Trade (CONECT) 19th Annual Northeast Cargo Symposium (NECS)
