REGISTRATION IS OPEN: APRIL 15 THROUGH JULY 19, 2019
YOU MUST ENROLL PRIOR TO ATTENDING FEDWEEK – WALK-INS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

  1. Self-register in CourseMill and then
  2. Enroll in FedWeek to attend
  3. Print your enrollment confirmation email from CourseMill – bring with you to FedWeek

Seminar materials will NOT be provided in print from the OSHA Training Institute (OTI).
Follow instructions during enrollment to download materials for the seminars.

All handouts are in one PDF portfolio file [instructions below].

Students may print the materials to bring or they may bring an electronic device for use in the classroom.
A limited number of power outlets will be available to accommodate student devices.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT FEDWEEK:

  • Your name must be on the enrollment list at check-in
  • Please be prepared to provide/show:
    • United States government identification
    • Your enrollment confirmation email
  • Select seminars to attend; Each seminar is offered twice during the three-day training event
    • Seminars are on a first-come first-served basis; Space is limited; the maximumenrollment is set by the OTI and cannot be exceeded.
    • Once the maximum number of students is reached, the seminar will be closed andstudents will be asked to attend a different seminar.
  • Be sure to Sign-In for all seminars attended. You will not receive credit for sessions for whichyou did not sign-in.

CREATE AN ACCOUNT/SELF-REGISTER IN COURSEMILL AND SELF-ENROLL IN FEDWEEK: [2-PART PROCESS]

PART 1 – CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT/SELF-REGISTER [CURRENT USERS GO TO PART 2]

NOTE: If you attended Fed Week 2018 you already have an account. Sign in with your User ID and password and advance to Part 2. If you forgot your password, click the ‘Forgot your User ID or Password’ link, type your User ID into the field, then click the ‘Process’ button, which generates a password reset email.

  1. Go to https://oshaelearning.coursemill.com/osha/Fed Week/index.html to access in CourseMill
  2. Click the “Self Register” button to begin the process of creating an account. IMPORTANT:
    Creating an account does not mean you are enrolled in the Fed Week 2019 session. You mustself-enroll into the session after you create an account.
  3. Complete the “Create New User” form:

  1. User ID is your work email address
  2. Full first name (no nicknames)
  3. Middle Initial
  4. Full last name
  5. Create a password following the
    password requirements listed
    below the field
  1. Address - work street address
  2. City - work city
  3. State - work state
  4. Zip/Postal - work zip code
  5. Country - work country
  6. Work Phone - work phone number
  1. Click the “Save” button and you are automatically logged into the system.

PART 2 – SELF-ENROLL / ALL USERS

  1. Click “Enroll” for FedWeek 2019 to self-enroll for the session
  2. Click “Yes,” when asked if you are sure you want to enroll
  3. Click “OK”

REMINDER, YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL STEPS IN THE 2-PART PROCESS:

  • Creating an account in CourseMill is only half of the process, you must complete the other half by enrolling in the FedWeek session.
  • Your enrollment email has your log-in information and confirms your self-registration was successful. If you do not receive the email after you’ve completed your enrollment, check your clutter, junk, spam, etc. folders.

  • Certificates will be issued after the close of FedWeek, August 2, 2019. All participants that signed-in to sessions they attended will receive a FedWeek 2019 Certificate of Completion.
  • Detailed certificates are available upon request, contact demanche.sueellen@dol.gov.
    • State your name as it appeared on the sign-in sheets in the sessions and the days you attended. Recall that you will not receive credit for sessions for which you did not sign-in.

CANCEL YOUR FEDWEEK 2019 ENROLLMENT:

Students should cancel enrollment as early as possible if they are unable to attend:

  • To cancel before the enrollment deadline, follow the cancellation steps below.
    Go to https://oshaelearning.coursemill.com/osha/Fed Week/index.html to log in, using the login credentials that you set up for yourself and were emailed to you when you self-enrolled
    1. Click on the information icon boxbox to display course details
    2. Click the “Unenroll” button at the bottom
    3. Click “Yes,” when asked if you are sure you want to remove the enrollment
    4. Click “OK” when prompted that you have been successfully unenrolled

  • To cancel after the enrollment deadline, email a request for cancellation to Student Services at
    OTI.Registration@dol.gov . The request must include your full name and cancellation reason.

FY19 FEDWEEK SEMINAR DESCRIPTIONS

Seminar 9111: Fall Protection.

This seminar provides an overview of the hazards and OSHA requirements associated with work performed at elevated working levels from surfaces such as scaffolds and ladders.

Intended audience: Individuals who are responsible to monitor or perform work at elevated working surfaces.

Seminar 9182: Cranes in Construction.

This seminar provides operator qualification requirements and discuss safety hazards associated with using cranes on your job site.

Intended audience: Persons who provide safety on construction sites where cranes are used.

Seminar 9203: Electrical.

This seminar provides a broad overview of common electrical hazards found in the workplace and primary methods of preventing or controlling employee exposure.

Intended audience: Individuals who have occupational safety and health responsibilities for reporting or referring potential electrical hazards created by workplace exposures.

Seminar 9215: Emergency Preparedness at the Federal Workplace.

This seminar provides the requirements for developing an Occupant Emergency Plan at the Federal Workplace. The guided workshops will allow participants to practice the development of a plan. Resources provided will assist in the development of your own emergency plan or the improvement your existing one.

Intended audience: Collateral Duty Safety Officers, Union Representatives, Managers, and Emergency Response Team Members

Seminar 9217: Management of Change.

This seminar provides a look at the impact of change on the workplace and prevention of negative consequences for safety, processes, systems, and organizational structure. Lessons learned through incident investigations and experiences will be applied to matters ranging from changes in management structure to purchasing new tools and equipment used in the workplace.

Intended audience: Individuals who are responsible for making and adapting to changes at work.

Seminar 9245: Recommended Practices for Safety and Health Programs.

This seminar provides an overview of the critical elements and the application of safety and health programs (SHP) to the workplace environment. This is based on OSHA’s Voluntary Guidelines published in 2016.

Intended audience: Individuals who have occupational safety and health responsibilities for supporting or participating in the implementation and/or the assessment of SHP effectiveness. HINT: Every Federal Employee in the workplace.

Seminar 9254: Lead Hazard Awareness.

This seminar provides an overview of the requirements of the OSHA lead standards and compliance guidance for projects involving potential lead exposures.

Intended audience: Individuals whose function relates to bidding, evaluating, supervising, controlling, correcting, or creating work situations where employees may be exposed to lead.

Seminar 9259: Managing an Effective Respiratory Protection Program.

This seminar explores common problems encountered in the management of Respiratory Protection Programs, with a focus on the hierarchy of controls. Hazard analysis, engineering controls, respirator selection, and effective management of other program elements will be discussed.

Intended audience: Individuals who have occupational safety and health responsibilities for managing or evaluating a respiratory protection program.

Seminar 9259: Industrial Hygiene Sampling Methods.

This seminar provides an overview of common industrial hygiene air sampling methods. The methods include particulate and gas/vapor sampling using screening and other air sampling equipment.

Intended audience: Individuals who have occupational safety and health responsibilities for evaluating health hazards in the workplace and arranging for sampling and monitoring.
