The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Engineering Laboratory (EL) and the NIST National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) will host a virtual workshop on October 26-27, 2020. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the challenges, opportunities and use cases of various blockchain technologies to improve traceability across manufacturing supply and logistics chains.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold a virtual workshop on October 22, 2020, from 12-4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The purpose of this workshop is to obtain feedback on topics related to future directions for NIST and NCCoE’s work in this important space. The workshop will feature an overview of NIST’s Cybersecurity for Internet of Things (IoT) Program and guest speakers highlighting the many considerations impacting the cybersecurity of IoT products.

The NCCoE’s Jim McCarthy will speak at the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Cyber Security Conference on Monday, October 19, 2020, beginning at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern). Jim is part of a panel discussion, Stories from the Edge, on challenges to securing grid edge devices, and the cybersecurity solutions available today and in the near-future to address potential threats to a modern grid. He will be joined by representatives from NREL, CPS Energy, and partners in the NCCoE’s latest project on distributed energy resource cybersecurity.
