NCCoE/PEP’s Nakia Grayson will speak at the Council of State Governments (CSG) Virtual Policy Academy on Monday, December 7, 2020, from 2:45pm-3:45pm (Eastern). Nakia is part of a panel discussion, COVID-19 & Health Care Impacts, discussing how privacy risks can be addressed in telehealth. She will speak about the privacy challenges and work related in the NCCoE’s Securing Telehealth: Remote Patient Monitoring Ecosystem.

Join the IETF 109 Virtual Hackathon

Members of the Mitigating IoT-Based DDoS project team will participate in IETF 109 Virtual Hackathon on November 9-13, 2020 where they will demonstrate how the MUD-PD tool can help generate Manufacturer Usage Description (MUD) files. MUD-PD is a tool for storing packet capture (PCAP) files to use in manual analysis and automated generation of MUD files.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold a virtual workshop on October 22, 2020, from 12-4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The purpose of this workshop is to obtain feedback on topics related to future directions for NIST and NCCoE’s work in this important space. The workshop will feature an overview of NIST’s Cybersecurity for Internet of Things (IoT) Program and guest speakers highlighting the many considerations impacting the cybersecurity of IoT products.

ICS Cyber Security Conference

The NCCoE’s Jim McCarthy will speak at the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Cyber Security Conference on Monday, October 19, 2020, beginning at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern). Jim is part of a panel discussion, Stories from the Edge, on challenges to securing grid edge devices, and the cybersecurity solutions available today and in the near-future to address potential threats to a modern grid. He will be joined by representatives from NREL, CPS Energy, and partners in the NCCoE’s latest project on distributed energy resource cybersecurity.

Virtual Workshop on Considerations in Migrating to Post-Quantum Cryptographic Algorithms
