Briefly:

Michael Ollinger has been an economist with the Economic Research Service (ERS) of USDA since 1991. His main research interests are food safety and structural change.

Background:

Before coming to ERS, Michael was a graduate student of economics at Washington University in St. Louis. Before becoming an economist he worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer and as a mechanical engineer for the Colgate-Palmolive company.

Education:

Michael has a Ph.D. in economics from Washington University in St. Louis.
