In response to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion has implemented office-wide telework. To ensure the safety of our employees and the NIH community we are requesting limited physical access to our office.
If you have questions or feel that you are being discriminated against you can contact us at 301.496.6301, email edi.resolutions@nih.gov, or submit a complaint through our online complaints system. These mechanisms minimize the health risks to agency employees and the public by implementing social distancing while ensuring that no employee or applicant would lose their rights under EEO regulations. Preserving access to being able to file a complaint of discrimination is important because the laws for filing a complaint of discrimination have regulatory deadlines to ensure timeliness.
The EEOC is encouraging federal employees in the federal sector EEO process to file requests for hearings and appeals electronically through the EEOC Public Portal.
Our Resolution and Equity team provides unbiased counsel to individuals who seek to resolve workplace conflict. Our experts educate the workforce on employee rights and responsibilities in the EEO process. They determine the claim and basis raised by a potential complaint; conduct inquiries during the initial interviews to identify jurisdictional questions; seek resolution of a dispute at the lowest possible level through informal counseling or through alternative dispute resolution; and ensure prompt and efficient processing of formal complaints.
