Visitor Information

NERSC is located in Shyh Wang Hall (building 59)—also known as the computational research and theory building or CRT—on the campus of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California.

You can find information about visiting the lab, including an interactive campus map, transportation and lodging suggestions at http://www.lbl.gov/visit/.  Your host must arrange site access prior to your visit.

Public Tours

SPECIAL NOTE: April 2019 through July 2020 the NERSC machine room will be under construction in preparation for our pre-exascale supercomputer, Perlmutter. As a result, machine room tours may be limited or unavailable on some dates, including some public tour dates.

Public tours of Berkeley Lab (including NERSC, the Advanced Light Source and Molecular Foundry) are available one Friday per month. There is no charge, but you must register in advance

NERSC Machine Room Tours may also be requested. If your group has eight or fewer people and you have a NERSC contact willing to give the tour (or arrange for another tour guide), you may work directly with your contact.  If you have more than eight in your group or if you don't know someone at NERSC, but would like a tour, please fill out the Computational Sciences Tour Request Form and we will attempt to accommodate your request subject to the availability of tour guides and the facility schedule.
