Mission
The Office of Investigations pursues allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct that could affect Amtrak’s programs, operations, assets, and other resources. Investigative findings are referred to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution or civil litigation, or to Amtrak management for administrative action. The office develops recommendations to reduce Amtrak’s vulnerability to criminal activity.
