2020 Design by Biomedical Undergraduate (DEBUT) Challenge

NIMHD is partnering with the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) on the 2020 DEBUT Challenge, a competition that recognizes undergraduate excellence in biomedical design and innovation. The challenge is open to teams of undergraduate students working on novel solutions to unmet health and clinical problems. Co-sponsored by VentureWell since 2016, this challenge will now include an NIMHD-sponsored prize focused on the development of accessible healthcare technologies for low-resource settings.

The DEBUT Healthcare Technologies for Low-Resource Settings prize will challenge the next generation of biomedical engineers to focus their attention on specific health care needs among underserved populations, who may benefit from innovative solutions.
