The Dietary Guidelines for Americans (Dietary Guidelines) is the cornerstone of Federal nutrition policy and education activities. Since 1980, the Dietary Guidelines has been jointly updated and issued every five years by the Departments of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services (HHS).
