Tips for Effective Subcontracting

Consider these tips for effective subcontracting as you prepare your subcontracting strategy.

  1. Go above and beyond.
  2. When working on a project for a prime contractor, doing something beyond the bare minimum requirement shows the prime that you care about the project and that you are a good choice for future projects they might have.
  3. Brand and promote your business.
  4. Creating a brand means you're building an identity, providing consistent messaging to potential clients, and demonstrating what differentiates you from the competition in your same area of expertise.
  5. Work smarter. Not harder.
  6. Don’t make your job harder than it needs to be. Be organized, methodical, and knowledgeable in all business practices.

The NITAAC Difference

Best-in-Class

Best-in-Class means that all three of NITAAC's GWACs have been designated by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as preferred governmentwide solutions.

FAR 16.5 Benefits

Fair opportunity is a requirement that federal agencies purchasing IT products and services must follow when using a multiple award contract, including GWACs. It is intended to level the playing field so that agencies cannot give an unfair advantage to one contractor over another.

Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity

Open ended, no set amount. While the term of the contract is fixed, the deliverables are not. During the term of a NITAAC GWAC, any federal customer can order an unlimited amount of products or services.
