As Georgia's first and only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, Winship Cancer Institute is a national leader in seeking out new ways to defeat cancer and in translating that knowledge into patient care. With over 250 active clinical trials, Winship researchers are dedicated to taking new cancer treatments from bench to bedside.
Emory University Hospital, Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital and Emory Johns Creek Hospital, three of Winship’s clinical sites have achieved the prestigious Magnet® recognition as a reflection of its nursing professionalism, teamwork and quality in patient care. Magnet recognition is granted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program®, which ensures that rigorous standards for nursing excellence are met.
Winship Cancer Institute is part of Emory Healthcare, Georgia’s largest health care system. Our world-class physicians have a wealth of experience in hematology and medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology and pathology. Our nurses, navigators, social workers, technicians and others are all part of the comprehensive cancer care team.
At Winship, our patients have access to clinical trials for virtually every cancer type. In 2019, we enrolled 900 patients in over 300 clinical trials.
