Department of Energy’s Public Access Plan Is Approved and STIP Is Key to Its Success
As required by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), the Department of Energy has prepared, secured approval of and posted the DOE Public Access Plan for providing access to the results of DOE-funded scientific research. This positions the Department and its dedicated STIP representatives to move forward on achieving its goals and enable public access to scholarly scientific publications.
Below you will find links to key information about the DOE public access initiative:
- DOE PAGES, the Department’s portal that will offer free access to the best available full-text version of DOE-affiliated scholarly publications;
- STIP Public Access FAQs; and
- OSTI's Public Access Policy and Communications page, which includes such resources as the DOE Public Access Plan, the DOE news release and additional information about DOE PAGES and the February 22, 2013 OSTP Memorandum to Agency Heads, “Increasing Access to the Results of Federally Funded Scientific Research.”
- Secretarial Memorandum from Ernest J. Moniz for Heads of Departmental Elements, National Laboratory Directors, DOE Technology Center Directors, Subject: Public Access to the Results of DOE-Funded Scientific Research, September 4, 2014.
Many sites and offices have been planning for this day and through STIP, we will continue to share information and guidance. Questions may be sent to stip@osti.gov
