The Social Security programs touch the lives of almost every American. Serving as Commissioner for the Social Security Administration (SSA) is a tremendous privilege and an awesome responsibility. I am humbled by the opportunity to help the agency to deliver critical services to the American people.

Millions of people depend on us to do our job well, each day, no excuses – because when we don’t, people suffer. As our nation tackles COVID-19, the men and women of SSA want you to know you can still count on us. While we remain unable to provide in-person service at our offices except in the most dire of cases, our employees are working tirelessly to help you by phone if you call your local Social Security office or our National 800 Number. Our website also has a wealth of information and many self-service options to help you complete your SSA business quickly, conveniently, and securely without needing to speak with a telephone representative.

It is very important to me that we share information that you need to know timely. I contribute regularly to our Social Security Matters Blog along with other SSA and guest contributors to bring you information about our operations and new services. I invite you to read my blogs and a letter to you I shared early in my tenure with SSA. Please subscribe to our blog to get the latest news from SSA. We hope you find this information helpful.

Please stay safe and remember that everyone at SSA is here to deliver the service you expect and deserve.
