About OVC Funding
OVC administers two Victims of Crime Act formula grant programs that support crime victim compensation and assistance—the cornerstone of support for victims throughout the Nation.
New Grants and Payment Management Systems Now Available!
The Justice Grants System (JustGrants) and the Department of the Treasury’s Automated Standard Application for Payments (ASAP) are now available for all award management and payment activities. Award recipients with the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) can login to JustGrants or visit the informational website for further resources and support. Additionally, ASAP is now available for enrolled Department of Justice award recipients to request funds. For more information on how to request funds in ASAP, please reference the user guide.
OVC also administers discretionary grants that are used to fund national-scope demonstration projects and training and technical assistance delivery to enhance the professional expertise of victim service providers. Such grants can be awarded to states, local units of government, tribal communities, individuals, educational institutions, and private nonprofit organizations.
These funds can be used to identify and implement promising practices, models, and programs, and to address gaps in training and technical assistance for the victim services field.
In fiscal year 2019, OVC awarded nearly $2.7 billion in grant awards to help improve victim services throughout the Nation. Learn more about OVC grant awards.
