OIG is recruiting for auditors, analysts, and investigators to join our office in both entry level and experienced positions. Join us for a virtual information session to discuss upcoming career opportunities within the OIG’s Office of Audit and Office of Investigations. Sessions are scheduled for December 3 (entry level) and December 4 (experienced) and registration information is provided below.
About our Office
OIG safeguards and strengthens U.S. foreign assistance through timely, relevant, and impactful oversight. We conduct independent audits and investigations to promote efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability and aim to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse. We oversee all USAID programs and operations, as well as those of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Inter-American Foundation, the U.S. African Development Foundation, and overseas contingency operations.
Within our Office of Audit, auditors and analysts conduct performance audits of foreign assistance operations spanning agriculture and food security, democracy and governance, economic growth, education, the environment, global health, and humanitarian aid and assistance. Audits identify ways to improve operations of the agencies we oversee and help them be more responsive to the needs of U.S. policymakers, including agency leaders and Congress; the American public; and people throughout the world. In the Office of Investigations, our investigators and investigative support personnel, which include accountants, analysts, auditors, work around the world to identify, investigate, and prosecute fraud and corruption affecting U.S. Government-supported humanitarian aid and international development activities. Our auditors, analysts, and investigators serve in either the Civil Service or the Foreign Service. Civil Service employees are based in Washington, DC, but may travel to overseas locations for temporary assignments lasting two to four weeks. Foreign Service Officers spend most of their careers living and working overseas.

- 3-5 years of audit, investigations, or investigative support experience
- Prior experience leading audits a plus

- Must be able to obtain medical clearance for Foreign Service positions
