Maritime Administration History Program

The Maritime Administration’s (MARAD) History Program promotes an understanding and appreciation of America’s merchant marine and maritime past through historical documentation and the preservation and interpretation of the agency's heritage assets. The History Program is also responsible for MARAD’s compliance with Federal laws and regulations concerning historic preservation.
