Meet the Commissioners
The City of Oakland Charter gives the Board of Port Commissioners exclusive control and management of the Port of Oakland. Our Board consists of seven members nominated by the Mayor and appointed by the City Council for four-year terms. Members must live in Oakland during their term and at least 30 days prior to their appointment. Port Commissioners donate their time to the Board as they serve without salary or compensation.

Every Sunday (Rain or shine!) | 9 AM – 2 PM
The beautiful Jack London Square is home to a Farmer’s Market that is organized and managed by CUESA (The Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture). Market customers connect directly with farmers and sellers offering fruits, vegetables, specialty foods, flowers and more. Free cooking demos, culinary educations classes and other events will also become a part of the Farmers Market at the Oakland waterfront.
