Antony Ross Barnett

Ross Barnett (b. 1938 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is Senior Research Fellow in the Mathematics Department, University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand. He obtained his D. Phil. degree from Oxford University in 1965, and was Lecturer in Physics at the University of Manchester, U.K. before returning to New Zealand.

Barnett’s current research interests are number theory and special functions. He is coauthor of the book Computing for Scientists (with R. J. Barlow), published by Wiley in 1998.

Barnett served as a Validator for the original release and publication in May 2010 of the NIST Digital Library of Mathematical Functions and the NIST Handbook of Mathematical Functions.
