Cost-to-Charge Ratio Files for the 2017 and 2018 State Emergency Department Database (SEDD)

AHRQ has released new information in HCUP Fast Stats. The State Trends in Hospital Use by Payer topic has been updated to add emergency department (ED) data for two new States (Colorado and Mississippi) and to add 2018, 2019, and 2020 quarter 1 data, when available, for up to 30 States for inpatient care and 21 States for ED care.

August 2020 AHRQ has released new information in HCUP Fast Stats. The Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Among Newborn Hospitalizations topic has been updated to add one new State-Hawaii-and 2018 statistics for 42 States as well as 2017 national statistics.
July 2020 Cost-to-Charge Ratio Files for the 2018 State Inpatient Databases (SID)

HCUP Cost-to-Charge Ratio for Emergency Department Files for the 2017 State Emergency Department Database (SEDD). The CCR for the CD-SEDD File provides hospital-specific emergency department (ED) cost-to-charge ratios for almost all HCUP Partners that participated in the CD-SEDD.

AHRQ has released new information in HCUP Fast Stats. The National Hospital Utilization and Costs topic has been enhanced to include a new section, Trends in Emergency Department Visits, which presents national trends in emergency department (ED) visits across a variety of patient characteristics - age, sex, expected payer, community-level income, and location. Statistics are based on the Nationwide Emergency Department Sample (NEDS) and are presented for data years 2008-2017.
May 2020 Clinical Classifications Software Refined (CCSR) for ICD-10-CM diagnoses (v2020.3; valid through FY 2020 with two new diagnosis codes added 4/1/2020)

AHRQ has released new information in HCUP Fast Stats
  • Two sections of the National Hospital Utilization and Costs topic, Trends in Inpatient Stays and Most Common Diagnoses for Inpatient Stays, have been updated to include national statistics and top diagnoses for 2017. The Trends in Inpatient Stays section presents national trends in inpatient utilization across a variety of patient characteristics. The Most Common Diagnoses for Inpatient Stays section presents the most common conditions listed as the principal diagnosis for hospital inpatient stays by year and across a variety of patient characteristics.
  • The Hurricane Impact on Hospital Use topic has been updated to delineate three new medical conditions - circulatory conditions, infections, and respiratory conditions. This topic presents the percent change in population-based inpatient and emergency department (ED) utilization rates post- versus pre-hurricane for 11 U.S hurricanes between 2005 and 2017. In addition to the three new medical conditions, hospital utilization statistics are provided for all conditions and for injuries by age group and county proximity to the hurricane.
April 2020 HCUP Fast Stats — AHRQ has released new information in HCUP Fast Stats. The Opioid-Related Hospital Use topic has been updated to include new inpatient and emergency department (ED) data. Since the last update in April 2019, this topic now includes additional 2017 inpatient data (11 States), 2017 ED data (12 States), 2018 inpatient data (36 States), 2018 ED data (27 States), 2019 inpatient data (15 States), and 2019 ED data (4 States).
