Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) gives the public the right to make a request for federal agency records. All agencies of the United States government are required to disclose records upon receiving a written request for them, except for those records that are protected from disclosure by the nine exemptions and three exclusions of the FOIA. Please refer to http://www.treasury.gov/FOIA/Pages/index.aspx to submit a FOIA request, review Treasury’s FOIA reports, regulations, or regularly-requested documents, or to find answers to frequently asked questions. For more information about FOIA in general, please refer to http://www.foia.gov.
