Grants

PHMSA provides comprehensive grant programs that are designed to improve damage prevention, develop new technologies, improve both hazmat and pipeline safety. Additionally, both the pipeline safety and hazmat safety grant programs has helped to foster partnerships with local communities, and universities to promote pipeline awareness campaigns, provide resources for emergency preparedness, development of pipeline resources and information, and the implementation of best practices regarding pipeline and hazmat safety nationwide.

Hazardous Materials Grants

PHMSA's Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) Grants Program is comprised of the following four grants:

• Assistance for Local Emergency Response Training (ALERT)
