What's New

New HCUP Software Tools Tutorial (12/17/20)

AHRQ has released the HCUP Software Tools Tutorial. This new tutorial introduces users to the HCUP software tools. Users will learn about the purpose of each tool and receive technical guidance for applying the tools to their data.

The 2018 Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD) and the Nationwide Ambulatory Surgery Sample (NASS) are now available (12/9/20)

The 2018 NRD and NASS databases were released through the HCUP Central Distributor, on December 9.

Fast Stats Data Update (12/9/20)

AHRQ has released new information in HCUP Fast Stats, The State Trends in Hospital Use by Payer topic has been updated to add emergency department (ED) data for two new States (Colorado and Mississippi) and to add 2018, 2019, and 2020 quarter 1 data, when available, for up to 30 States for inpatient care and 21 States for ED care.

New Clinical Classifications Software Refined (CCSR) for ICD-10-PCS Procedures Released (12/2/20)

The Clinical Classifications Software Refined (CCSR) for ICD-10-PCS procedures, which replaces the beta version of the CCS for ICD-10-PCS procedures and applies to all ICD-10-procedure codes through fiscal year 2021, is now available. See the Tools & Software section of HCUP-US for more information.

HCUP Methods Series Report #2020-02 (12/1/20)

Population Denominator Data Sources and Data for Use with HCUP Databases (Updated with 2019 Population Data).

The 2018 National Inpatient Sample (NIS) and the Nationwide Emergency Department Sample (NEDS) are now available (11/18/20)

The 2018 NIS and NEDS databases were released through the HCUP Central Distributor on November 18.
