CTOS continues to monitor the guidance of the CDC and state of Nevada as it relates to COVID-19. The safety, security, and well-being of our students and staff is our number one priority. To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, CTOS has suspended all face-to-face classes for the time being and will re-evaluate regularly. Our online courses are still available. We will continue to monitor the situation and students impacted will be contacted by CTOS Registrar's Office to reschedule suspended resident and mobile training, to the maximum extent possible. CTOS will continue to update any additional information.

CTOS STATUS

Resident and mobile deliveries remain suspended for the time being. We are working with the staff and FEMA to develop return to work policies to help protect our personnel and students. We expect that deliveries may begin in the August/September timeframe with strict approval from FEMA and individual state authorities.

As State, Local, Tribal and Territorial (SLTT) leaders are looking for ways to continue daily operations during the current COVID-19 response. CTOS has begun to offer alternatives to in person deliveries. We are ready to support you and your personnel in acquiring critical radiological and nuclear prevention and response training using both online self-study and online Instructor Mediation training. These alternatives will provide the greatest level of protection for the nation's first responders but still allow agencies to meet training requirements.

CTOS currently have three ELearning Self-Study courses that are available to agencies and students. They are as follows:

AWR-140W - Intro to Awareness and Response to Rad/Nuc Operations

PER-300W - Primary Screener Refresher

PER-307W - Introduction to Nuclear Detonation (IND) Effects and Response Strategies

Online Instructor Mediated Course

CTOS now offers Online Instructor Mediated Training.

Course delivery has been streamlined allowing students to complete course activities on their schedule, while maintaining the greatest degree of safety.

Students can complete the training anywhere internet access is available. Instructor led training sessions are limited to a maximum of 2 hours to allow students to maintain their operational responsibilities.

Associated course paperwork is easily completed using the CTOS Learning Management System (LMS).
